Atelier Aveque is an architecture practice established in 2018 and based in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Led by architect Jonathan Francis, the practice works primarily across architecture and architectural interiors.
We are interested in making spaces that are thoughtful, practical, and well made. Our work begins with an understanding of what is already there; the site, climate, materials, ways of building, and ways of living.
We look at architecture through the relationship between material, economy, context, use, and craft. We pay attention to how materials are made and age, how spaces are used, and to the smaller decisions that shape them, through light, proportion, junctions, and details.
There is an interest in restraint, not as an aesthetic, but as a way of making decisions and giving greater attention to what remains.
Atelier Aveque is a small, principal-led practice, working with architects, consultants, craftsmen, fabricators, artists, and other collaborators as required by each project.
